Since we always have to neatly pack the ropes into our backpacks and do a lot of abseiling, there are some very quick ways—some are a bit silly, like placing a wide-based carabiner under the helmet strap to quickly tuck the rope into the backpack.

This way, you can do it with two hands. And you leave the rope outside, ready for use.
