Releasable Belay Rappel

In canyoning, you don’t rappel. You always rappel from one branch, using the other branch as a buffer. So we pass the rope through the anchor, then with a figure 8 we insert the rope and then we make the key.

The key is a section of rope that can be released, because I don’t know if the first person to descend will have enough rope. For this reason, the first person to use the descender on this side will descend with a whistle.

In another video, I’ll explain the commands for getting more rope or for indicating that this is enough. When we reach the water, we’ll unthread the other end of the rope.
